Facelift
A facelift is designed to reverse the visible effects of aging by eliminating excess skin and tightening the muscles of the face and neck. With a facelift, skin that has lost its elasticity can be lifted to reveal new facial contour, and tightened to create a fresh, rested appearance. At our West Hills Hosptial & Medical center practice, we believe a facelift can provide some of the most dramatic, comprehensive results that plastic surgery has to offer. A facelift can be used to elevate the cheeks, lift and remove excess skin along the neck and underneath the chin, tighten the skin along the jaw line, and reveal a younger looking profile.
At our West Hills Hospital & Medical center practice, a facelift can be combined with targeted liposuction, a brow lift, or eyelid surgery for maximum results. We also offer a wide selection of non-surgical skin care procedures at our West Hills Hospital & Medical center practice that can be combined with a facelift to reveal smoother, softer skin.

Candidates
If you have any of the following, you are a good candidate for a facelift: a deep line from the corner of your nose to the corner of your mouth; jowls, or the lack of a well-defined jaw line; deep wrinkles in your cheeks and cheekbone areas that sag; wrinkles, loose skin, or excess fatty tissue in your neck. Ideal facelift candidates are also physically healthy, non-smokers, and have specific, realistic goals in mind for their facelift.
What to Expect
A facelift procedure can take several hours. It may be done on an outpatient basis, or you may have a short inpatient stay. After the procedure, you will have a light bandage, and you may or may not have a drain tube for any excess fluid or blood that collects under the skin. This tube and the bandage will be removed in one or two days. Any sutures or staples will usually be removed 5-10 days after your procedure. Full recovery will take 2-6 weeks.
